The first information report (FIR) filed by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Mumbai on January 24, has not invoked the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections pertaining to sedition and waging war against the government of India against the accused in the Elgar Parishad case.
HT has a copy of the FIR filed by the NIA which names 11 persons – the nine arrested activists, and Gautam Navlakha and Anand Teltumbde.

The prosecution and the defence on Monday sought more time from a court here in Maharashtra to file their response on the National Investigation Agency’s application seeking transfer of the Elgar Parishad case to a special NIA court in Mumbai.
After hearing both the sides, Additional Sessions Judge S R Navandar kept the matter for hearing on February 6.

The National Investigation Agency has submitted an application before the Pune court that has been hearing the Bhima Koregaon case to seek its transfer to a special court in Mumbai, PTI reported on Thursday.
The matter will be taken up on February 3. A fresh first information report has also been filed in the case on Monday, ANI reported.

Mumbai: The inquiry commission set up in Maharashtra to investigate the Koregaon-Bhima riots could call former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, one of the petitioners before the commissioner told reporters. The commission is headed by former Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court JN Patel and former Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sumit Malik and was set up to conduct an inquiry into the riot that took place in Koregaon Bhima on January 1, 2018.
