Bharadwaj, a professor at NLU, Delhi, was arrested on October 27, 2018, for allegedly being part of a banned Maoist organisation and inciting violence after the Elgar Parishad was held in Pune. The Bombay high court (HC) on Thursday reserved the order on the bail application of civil rights activist Sudha Bharadwaj, who was arrested by the Pune police in connection with the Elgar Parishad case. Justice Nitin Sambre said he will pronounce the order on March 11.

PUNE: Elgar Parishad case accused P Varavara Rao on Friday moved a plea before the special UAPA court seeking treatment of his left eye and fissure condition at the Sassoon General Hospital.
District government pleader Ujjwala Pawar submitted that she would file a written say on Rao’s medical treatment plea on February 25, when the court is expected to hear it and pass an order.

The Pune police on Thursday filed a supplementary chargesheet against four human rights activists, poet Varavara Rao, lawyer Arun Ferreira, and human rights activists Vernon Gonsalves and Sudha Bharadwaj.

Bombay HC Extends Interim Bail Of Anand Teltumbde Till Feb 27

The Bombay High Court today extended till February 27 the interim protection from arrest granted to activist and academic Anand Teltumbde.
While Teltumbde’s plea seeking anticipatory bail was listed for hearing Friday, a single bench presided over by Justice N W Sambre adjourned the hearing and extended Teltumbde’s protection at the request of the latter’s counsel. Teltumbde is one of the 22 accused in the Elgar Parishad-Bhima Koregaon case.
