The All India Cultural Convention – Pratirodh Ek Jan Sanskritik Dakhal held at Bhillai, Chhattisgarh on the 16th and 17th of March 2019 saw the participation of more than two hundred representatives from various cultural action groups across India.

We organised several public meetings today at Bhoomiheen Colony, Govindpuri. Members from different organization talked about divisive political scenario being set up in the country. Further we spoke about the tactics of using black draconian laws to silent the dissenting voices of people.

As part of an India-wide police operation on 28th August activists Sudha Bharadwaj, Vernon Gonsalves, Arun Ferreira, Gautam Navlakha and Varavara Rao were arrested and the homes of many more raided. Sudha Bharadwaj is a trade unionist and lawyer. The following pictures document protests from her working area in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh immediately after her arrest.
