PUNE: Elgar Parishad case accused P Varavara Rao on Friday moved a plea before the special UAPA court seeking treatment of his left eye and fissure condition at the Sassoon General Hospital.
District government pleader Ujjwala Pawar submitted that she would file a written say on Rao’s medical treatment plea on February 25, when the court is expected to hear it and pass an order.

Eighty-year-old Varavara Rao asked for a mattress to sleep on inside Pune’s Yerawada Central Jail last month. He was given extra blankets instead. When his lawyer challenged this in court, the authorities took back the blankets.
